Why Are Computers So Important

We all agree that computers changed our lives for the better in so many ways that we can hardly comprehend the scope of the improvement they brought. Everything became easier, more affordable, and at the same time more complicated. Computers reduced distances between people, they reduce the time allocated to completion of one task or another. Almost every field found has a way in which computers can provide assistance.

At first computer was designed to serve scientists and engineers in their detailed researches but they became soon after they were placed on the market a tool that is indispensable. Why is that? Because they work fast, at low cost, they are more precise than human mind. In fact these days even exams are assisted by computers. Computers lack motif to favor on candidate or another. Computers can perform computations human mind would require a thousand fold its natural capacity to cope with. That is a reason to keep a computer around, right? Beats the hell out of hiring one thousand scientists (assuming they are so many in the whole world).

Let’s try and see some fields of activity computer really made a substantial contribution. Banking system benefits from computing industry to the fullest extent. They keep track of all the money they have, they make transactions, payments, and every thing a bank does goes through a computer. Since we are here, let’s not forget the stock exchanges that also operate on computers. It may be that banking is the most computer-relying domain.

Communications are the second field that benefits from computer development. In fact contemporary communications are based entirely on computers. Telephone companies use computers, cell phone companies have even turned their devices into computers. The phone companies provide Internet for computers these days, and television cable that runs through computer also. Computers took these classical forms of communication to the next level (I have a feeling that it is not the ultimate level, not by a long shot). Email practically killed the postmen; messenger is about to do the same to telephones and the examples may go on for ever.

Computers have an important saying in medicine also. They have the ability to diagnose many diseases and predict the cure more accurately than a person can. There are many devices that use computers to get a view of internal organs in the human body. The image you see with your child in the womb of his/her mom is also interpreted by the computer.

Education uses computers at a large scale. There is no school in the civilized world without computers. You must learn the basics of computers, because without them no one will ever hire you in a rewarding job. Media today also operates on computers. The books and the newspapers are now edited on computers, posted on the Internet, promoted on the Internet, and sold on the Internet. Television can be seen on the Internet, and there may be channels that broadcast on the Internet only.
