Some people would rather customize their own car, make it different unique then other cars driving down the streets. A common thing for a car maker. Its what makes them who they are, The more the car looks like its owner the happier they are, like adding chrome rims and grills, customized murals, spinners, pipes, DVD players, expensive stereo systems, LCD monitors, ground effects, and hydraulics. So What about car insurance for Custom car? Will you be paying the same as if you was buying a car out of a dealer shop? Will it cover the same policies? do you know if your auto insurance company will cover these often expensive enhancements? Modifying your car can be a huge investment, and you don’t want to find out after the fact that your vehicle is not covered.
If you’re thinking of improving your car make sure you know if your car insurance will cover it or not.

Always ask before you make any big changes to your car, Ask an auto insurance company if its okay to make changes, tell them all you want to put on your car and if they will cover it. Ask all the question you can think about. It will help you know what they will cover and what they will not. You wont want to buy so much and then realize you can lose it all if any accidents happens. Most insurance companies will ask if your car has substantial customization that you would like to insure it at an additional cost. If so, you can add to your comprehensive and collision coverage for custom parts and equipment. An endorsement is a change to your auto insurance policy, and it can extend coverage to include your modifications sounding good if it does. Check the amount covered under your endorsement, because it can vary for different companies. If your new parts cost more than the covered cost, you may want to consider shopping around to explore your coverage options. Keep in mind that standard insurance companies insure the actual value of the parts, meaning that they will pay you what the parts are worth, not what it costs to replace them.

Always be safe this is important, make sure your parts are install correctly, and by a professional, Some people think they are mechanics and install some parts on there own to then when there driving have them fall out on the road (not a good thing at all) so make sure all is well and doble check all parts before hitting the road, you dont want any parts to be installed improperly. I know you want to save some money by not going to a professional, but if all is not put well you will be spending more money then you should have if you would have just let a Professional mechanic install it. Not only custom cars can get free quotes, from alot of companies just by completing a application. some companies will cover you, just select yes for the questions about substantial customization of the vehicle information at the section of the application. and if you still dont get it or just dont understad you can ask for assistance which in that case they will for sure help you out.
