Members of the ATI Radeon 5xxx video card family are slowly disappearing, as far superior models from the next generation have been launched this year, and more are still on the way to meet every user category's needs.
At the moment there are just two ATI Radeon HD5750 video cards available at newegg.com, a cheap one made by BioStar and a slightly more expensive model made by HIS.

HIS has always put more effort into designing the cooler for its video cards and the technicians didn't let us down with this model either. This is the only significant difference between the two mentioned ATI Radeon HD5750 video cards. They both have 1GB of 128bit DDR5 memory running at 1150MHz (4.6Gbps total speed), 720 stream processors running at 700MHz and they both take up more than just one slot. The video card from BioStar is recommended for users who want maximum compatibility with older monitors, as it features an old-fashioned analog VGA port, HDMI and DVI. The one from HIS has three digital output ports: DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. Yes, these video cards can control up to three monitors with AMD's Eyefinity technology of course.

The power requirement of ATI Radeon HD5750 video cards is around 86Watts at full load, but when idle, this figure is significantly lower, just 18Watts. Unfortunately a PCI-Express 16X slot provides just 75Watts of power, so an additional power cable has to be attached to video card that exceed this limit. This can be a good thing, because when you configure two ATI Radeon HD5750 video cards in CrossFire mode you can rest assured that the motherboard's power circuit won't be overloaded. Gamers tend to overclock their microprocessors that are already power-hungry with default settings (125-130 Watts). When overclocked, the motherboard will need to provide up to 200-250 watts just to the processor, so using efficient video cards makes a lot of sense if an expensive power supply isn't present in the system.
All in all ATI Radeon HD5750 video cards are still a good solution for an average Crossfire gaming system, but if you have a choice, then go for video card models from the latest generation. At the moment AMD Radeon HD6750 video card prices start at $99, but their value is higher because of their slightly more efficient architecture.
